He believes the purpose of art is to help man find his place in the universe, and he considers a painting successful if it draws people into a state of meditative contemplation. Blake Brasher grew up in North Pole, Alaska and earned a B.S. in Art and Design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) in 2003. He works part time as a robotics engineer at Google and maintains a painting studio in Boston, MA.
