From the Artist:
I have been interested in science and engineering since I was little. Every summer break from junior high school I would visit and help out at my father’s factory in Taiwan. Hanging out at my Dad’s factory is one of my fondest childhood Memories. I couldn’t stop staring at those giant mechanical devices, and trying to figure out how they worked. Every part of each machine connected to another massive machine, moving and working smoothly together, just like a human body. While studying the human form I came see it as an incredible machine. Similar to the wonder that my father’s machines made me feel as a child, the human form fascinated me. Specific parts of the human form, like the organs, brain, and the way our bodies perceive the world around us are the focus of my work.
After moving to Los Angeles ten years ago, I realized that America has a huge culture formed around the automobile, especially in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles you can find any race of people, and the same goes for cars, there are all types of makes and models of cars from all over the world. You can fix and modify a car or a motorcycle as much as you want. Most of the people living in Los Angeles can’t live without a car. Cars became part of our life; part of our identity. Your car is not only your mode of transportation, but also your status. It is a representation of you.

Colette Standish
Charcoal & Photography (Film) on Paper
Colette Standish's artwork presents the tensions that exist between opposites, centering around masculine and feminine, animus and anima. She uses the body as a point of reference, using blank space in the human form to evoke a spiritual presence and present the plane where tensions reside, at times invisible to the human eye. Her interactions with opposing forces cause her images to fragment offering a perceived balance and harmony of tension and the resulting discomfort.

"Repetitive patterns have always fascinated me. The methodical recurrence of a single element, as a building block for a bigger structure, has a powerful effect which grows the more the unit is used.
Every piece of jewelry is made of hundreds of units. At first the units had no influence on the jewelry (except for the one I intended them to have), but as I added more and more of them they started to have a growing impact on the shape and flexibility of the jewelry.
The creation of this collection always involves dealing with the conflict between the material and its "will" and my intentions as the designer." - Lital Mendel

Colette Standish
Fine Art Archival Pigment Print
Colette Standish's artwork presents the tensions that exist between opposites, centering around masculine and feminine, animus and anima. She uses the body as a point of reference, using blank space in the human form to evoke a spiritual presence and present the plane where tensions reside, at times invisible to the human eye. Her interactions with opposing forces cause her images to fragment offering a perceived balance and harmony of tension and the resulting discomfort.

This is a handmade felt wall piece (diptych) made of dyed, unspun wool and yarns, stretched and ready to hang like a painting. It was inspired by the tree branches outside my studio window on a winter morning. Dimensions are about 13" x 29" x 2", and the sections can be hung vertically as well. The piece is cleanable by gentle vacuuming through mesh (provided).

I draw inspiration from a range of sources, such as archaeology, artifacts, geology, landscape and plant matter.
My process comprises of an eclectic mix of adding and subtracting: controlling the medium yet allowing the accidental. I work in layers, creating then obscuring , revealing then hiding.
Painting surfaces are constantly multi-layered and renewed. This process-orientated method of constant re- defining allows a subject’s essence to reveal itself in its own time.

Moshe’s pieces are inspired from his love of photography and sculpture. The marriage of these two disciplines creates intriguing pieces that involve a complicated carving method onto glass, derived from digital images. He photographs themes ranging from city architecture to natural landscapes.
He uses elegant traditional blown glass inspired forms and mixes beautiful vibrant colors that have a magnitude of hues and tones. Nature inspires Moshe’s art and lighting. This is evident in the complex hand carvings of the Image Pendants and the fluid natural feeling of the Droplets.

Artist: Jason Wilson
Thirty-five years ago, a young boy watched his Native American grandmother design, assemble and sew his family’s quilts. Today, contemporary Perceptual artist, Jason Wilson, influenced by his grandmother’s quilts, gives new life to old concepts.
His designs are about building the painting as much as painting the painting...involving hours of construction.
Perceptual Art asks its audience to visually or emotionally interact with the design. Some Perceptual Art appears to shimmer and shift while other designs may, for example, provide a sense of serenity and grace. By bringing his designs to life, Jason Wilson hopes to delight and inspire others.

Like a flame, a living body that flickers and burns, Flex is a shape in continuous elastic movement. It lies peacefully down on itself, enclosing wood, books and magazines in an embrace, or arches decidedly to become a seat: its curves change direction to receive the tired
Flex is a sheet of hardened steel. Its particular "fabric effect" finish makes it look soft and silky. Its form moves continuously thanks to the particular technical characteristics of the steel used, and many different uses and applicable shapes can be obtained just by varying the arrangement of the connecting screws: oval or flame-shaped. If necessary it can also be transformed into an unusual seat. Single modular sheet in three different shapes. Flex can become a holder for firewood, a magazine rack...
