"The shape of a piece might come from a bird's wing, the color from crystals under a microscope, a line from the sinuous edge of a pond meeting the shore, and the texture from the bark of a birch tree. I wish to celebrate nature, not to mirror it." - Sharron Parker

"Except for a short stint of wanting to be a cowboy at age 5, I have always wanted to be an artist; or, I have always been an artist whether I wanted to be, or not. It seems to have been more a case of art choosing me than the other way around, and throughout my life it has been a constant beacon, providing hue and value to most of my visual, as well as spiritual and philosophical perceptions." - Paul Kelley

"I have chosen to follow the path of designing and building hand-crafted contemporary furniture because it brings me great joy. My designs are inspired from many sources, from walks in the woods to overseas travels, but mostly from the wood itself." - Brian Fireman
Brian Fireman earned his BS in Geology and MA in Architecture from Virginia Tech. He has spent much time traveling and kayaking around the world from Ecuador to Nepal. During is masters program, he worked his summers building and raising hand-cut timber frame structures where he learned the diverse traditions of woodworking and joinery. After school, while working for a high-end residential architecture firm, it became clear to Brian Fireman that he missed the truly hands-on approach to both designing and building, and in 2003 Brian Fireman Design was founded.
Brian Fireman works from his studio in the mountains of western North Carolina. Brian Fireman Design creates furniture that will last generations, increase in value, and enrich the lives of those who live with the work.
All work is made to order, and the careful selection of material is sourced locally and sustainably from the forests of western North Carolina.
There is an 8 to 12 week lead-time until shipment.

From the Artist:
I have been interested in science and engineering since I was little. Every summer break from junior high school I would visit and help out at my father’s factory in Taiwan. Hanging out at my Dad’s factory is one of my fondest childhood Memories. I couldn’t stop staring at those giant mechanical devices, and trying to figure out how they worked. Every part of each machine connected to another massive machine, moving and working smoothly together, just like a human body. While studying the human form I came see it as an incredible machine. Similar to the wonder that my father’s machines made me feel as a child, the human form fascinated me. Specific parts of the human form, like the organs, brain, and the way our bodies perceive the world around us are the focus of my work.
After moving to Los Angeles ten years ago, I realized that America has a huge culture formed around the automobile, especially in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles you can find any race of people, and the same goes for cars, there are all types of makes and models of cars from all over the world. You can fix and modify a car or a motorcycle as much as you want. Most of the people living in Los Angeles can’t live without a car. Cars became part of our life; part of our identity. Your car is not only your mode of transportation, but also your status. It is a representation of you.

Artist: Jason Wilson
Thirty-five years ago, a young boy watched his Native American grandmother design, assemble and sew his family’s quilts. Today, contemporary Perceptual artist, Jason Wilson, influenced by his grandmother’s quilts, gives new life to old concepts.
His designs are about building the painting as much as painting the painting...involving hours of construction.
Perceptual Art asks its audience to visually or emotionally interact with the design. Some Perceptual Art appears to shimmer and shift while other designs may, for example, provide a sense of serenity and grace. By bringing his designs to life, Jason Wilson hopes to delight and inspire others.

Not all tapes twirl and dance, going forward and back. This Tape stops, linear and thin, vertical and slender. It is almost hidden and the wood seems to be suspended. That is the effect it produces: not impressive and sculpted, but unexpected and discreet.
Tape is a painted steel structure. This furnishing accessory is applied on the wall. It is not excessively deep, with a minimum bulk that maintains a good loading capacity. The fundamental characteristic of this structure is its essential nature: when fully loaded it becomes almost invisible, making the wood the most outstanding element.
